Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer (m/f/d) to work at various locations across Germany in a hybrid setting. You will ensure the availability and performance of our network and server infrastructure, focusing on network components and virtualization environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability and performance of network and server infrastructure.
• Operate, maintain, and monitor network components (Cisco or similar).
• Administer and optimize VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter).
• Configure and manage firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet) and implement security policies.
• Conduct incident, problem, and change management according to ITIL standards.
• Participate in data center planning and execution (on-premises).
• Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Utilize modern tools like Ansible and Terraform for automating deployments and configurations.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience in operating and configuring Cisco systems or similar network technologies.
• Knowledge of VMware virtualization (ESXi, vCenter, storage integration, high availability concepts).
• Proficiency in firewall management (Palo Alto, Fortinet, VPN configuration, and rulesets).
• Familiarity with physical server management, cabling, and lifecycle management.
• Understanding of ITIL and a structured, independent work approach.
• Willingness for on-call duty and security clearance according to German security law.
• High willingness to travel.
• Language skills: German minimum C1 / English minimum B2.
