Job Description

As a Senior Backend Engineer in our Integrations Squad, you will play a crucial role in connecting clinics and health services using cutting-edge standards such as KIS, HL7, and FHIR. In this regulated environment, you will develop solutions that elevate digital patient care to the next level, directly impacting the healthcare industry.

Tasks

• Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails and TypeScript to enhance system integration.
• Create and integrate data pipelines and standards like KIS, HL7, and FHIR into production systems for seamless communication.
• Ensure secure data transmission and GDPR-compliant communication between systems.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, product management, DevOps, and clinical partners to develop innovative solutions.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability with clean, tested code for long-term stability.
• Contribute to the continuous optimization of AWS-based cloud infrastructure and improvement of the technical architecture.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in backend development with Ruby on Rails and TypeScript in production environments.
• In-depth experience with KIS, HL7, and FHIR with safe integration between heterogeneous systems, ideally in the German healthcare sector.
• Strong knowledge of API design, RESTful and asynchronous integrations, and security principles.
• Expertise in AWS and DevOps, including building CI/CD pipelines and using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Fluency in German and English with German C1 mandatory for this role.
