Job Summary

The University of Kassel is a dynamic institution with around 21,000 students, known for its broad fields of competence in natural sciences, technology, culture, and society. We are looking for a Research Associate (m/f/d) to join the Sustainable Electric Energy Systems group in the Department of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science to work on the "AGISTIN" research project.

Offer Details

Your role will involve contributing to the AGISTIN project, which focuses on developing grid integration architectures for energy storage systems. Join a dedicated team addressing current energy transition challenges. The position is part-time, initially until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension and includes an opportunity for pursuing a Ph.D.

Tasks

  • Conduct scientific research within the AGISTIN project, especially on grid-forming control processes for resource-optimized use of grid-connected generation, loads and storages.
  • Develop simulation models and conduct studies.
  • Independently handle a research area focusing on grid stability, dynamic grid simulations, or optimized operation of electrical energy systems.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a higher education degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or related fields by the employment date.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Preferred skills include knowledge in energy system modeling and dynamic simulation, experience with simulation programs such as Matlab/Simulink, and familiarity with mathematical optimization.
