Job Summary

Join our Institute for Applied Materials - Electrochemical Technologies (IAM-ET) to support the energy transition within the chemical industry through innovative power-to-chemicals processes.

Detailed Description

The role involves developing and optimizing processes based on innovative porous electrodes for sustainable chemical production. You will be responsible for analyzing, modeling, and designing electrolyzers with a focus on reactions and transport in porous electrodes. This position allows you to contribute concrete design and operational proposals to optimize electrode architecture and process management.

Tasks

  • Develop and optimize electrochemical processes using porous electrodes.
  • Analyze, model, and design key chemical reactions within electrolyzers.
  • Generate insights into the factors affecting performance metrics such as selectivity and energy efficiency.
  • Propose technically viable design and operational concepts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in engineering, chemistry, or physics with foundational knowledge in reaction and transport processes.
  • Experience in electrochemistry or chemical-analytical measurement techniques is advantageous.
  • Enthusiasm for scientific problem analysis and a keen interest in interdisciplinary work.
  • Ability to work independently with creativity, teamwork, and excellent communication skills in both German and English.

Remuneration

Salary according to EG 13 TV-L, subject to meeting professional and personal requirements.

Contract Duration

Fixed-term contract for 3 years.
