The Germanisches Nationalmuseum (GNM) is seeking to appoint a Museum Educator (m/f/d) on a full-time, temporary basis for two years as parental leave cover, with a focus on inclusion and media guide development. Operating as part of the Kunst- und Kulturpädagogischen Zentrum der Museen in Nürnberg (KPZ), you will join the central museum educational service of the GNM and the city of Nuremberg.

The Museum is committed to breaking down participation barriers, fostering inclusion through concepts like touch stations in exhibitions, structural improvements, and inclusive digital offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Further develop and manage the content of the media guide.
- Participate in the Accessibility Working Group of the GNM.
- Advise on exhibition inclusivity and accessibility during conceptualization.
- Create inclusive museum educational concepts.
- Collaborate on the development of inclusive exhibits in permanent displays.
- Maintain contact with relevant associations and networks.
- Contribute to public program planning and coordination.
- Support general educational delivery at the GNM.
Requirements
- A completed academic degree in a museum-related field, preferably in Art History; a master's degree is desirable.
- At least two years of relevant experience in museum education, particularly in inclusion and media guides.
- Experience in designing didactic approaches for exhibitions.
- Strong museum pedagogical methodological competence.
- Proven text writing skills and experience in audience-focused communication.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Teamwork capabilities, resilience, and intercultural competence.
- Willingness for occasional weekend commitments.
