Your Responsibilities

Engage in client projects with major corporations and public sector entities, fully integrating into teams with complete responsibility for your area.

• Design, develop, and test microservices within the Java realm.
• Develop APIs: REST and SOAP, both synchronous and asynchronous, with OpenAPI 3 specifications.
• Automate processes using Camunda BPM.
• Conduct test automation using JUnit 5 and Cucumber.
• Oversee service operation, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to architecture design alongside code generation, review, and refactoring.
• Coordinate with interfacing partners across teams.

Expect to spend 1-2 days a week in an office, though this is not mandatory. Direct client site visits for occasional meetings.

On-Call Responsibilities

You'll also manage the services you develop, including scheduled on-call rotations which are fairly distributed within the team.

What You Bring

Senior level expertise is crucial as our clients expect immediate, independent contributions.

Core Backend Skills:

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot with Spring Data and Hibernate/JPA.
• Design and development of microservices.
• REST and SOAP web services (JSON/XML over HTTP), OpenAPI 3.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• JUnit 5 and Cucumber for testing.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD with GitLab Pipelines and Maven build.
• Agile methodologies with Git, Jira, Confluence.

Additional Skills:

• Practical Camunda BPM experience.
• OAuth 2.0 and Keycloak for handling authentication and authorization.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Apache Kafka and asynchronous communication.
• XML, XSD, XSLT expertise.
• Background in complex projects with multiple teams.
• J2EE legacy systems migrating to Spring Boot.

Language: German native or C1/C2, fluent English for daily stakeholder interactions.

Mastering core Java and swiftly adapting to new tech stacks is key.

Mandatory AI Tools

Use AI tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor in your work. These are essential for meeting client demands and evolving your skills with us in AI development.
