The Thüringer Netkom GmbH, a telecommunications provider in Thuringia located in Erfurt, has been operating a dense fiber-optic high-speed network in Thuringia since 1996. As a subsidiary of TEAG Thüringer Energie AG, we offer carriers, business customers, energy service providers, and private customers IP products and dedicated connections.
We are seeking an IT System Engineer (m/f/d) for our IT Systems and Organization department at our Erfurt location. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Your new challenge
- Plan, operate, and optimize our server, database, and network infrastructure, ensuring safe and stable operations.
- Administer specialized applications and operating systems, perform updates, patches, and upgrades, and monitor ongoing operations.
- Implement information security measures, develop the ISMS, and support audits and certifications.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support, analyze issues, and ensure sustainable problem resolutions.
- Manage external IT service providers and collaborate closely with internal departments on IT projects.
- Document relevant system and security processes and participate in IT on-call duties.
Your talents and skills
- Completed degree in computer science or a similar qualification with several years of experience in server, database, and network infrastructure administration (Windows/Linux).
- Solid knowledge of firewall, VPN environments, and system and infrastructure hardening.
- Experience in 2nd and 3rd level support, including error analysis, troubleshooting, and release/patch management.
- Good understanding of information security management (e.g., ISO 27001, NIS2) and audits.
- Structured and autonomous working style, clear communication, and a reliable team player.
- Driver’s license class B.
