Job Description
The position is located at the newly established Institute of Sociology within the Faculty of Arts, focusing on empirical social research methodologies. As part of the DFG Research Training Group 3125, "Reconciliation and its Equivalents in Transcultural Comparison," the instructor will contribute to elevating standards in academic teaching.
Tasks
- Conduct BA-level tutorials in methods of social research and provide instruction in statistics and general sociology for various programs, including BA Politics and Society, MA Sociology, and BA & M.Ed. in Economy-Politics/Social Sciences.
- Supervise academic theses and handle administrative duties.
Requirements
- Completed university degree in sociology or a related social science discipline with expertise in quantitative and qualitative social research.
- Outstanding doctoral degree (at least "magna cum laude").
- Several years of teaching experience at the university level, particularly in quantitative and qualitative methods training.
- Proven knowledge of a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods, evidenced by relevant publications.
- Proficiency in modern teaching and examination formats, including digital tools, with excellent proficiency in German and English.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a flexible approach.
