The MyCargoGate Group, a leading logistics company specializing in cross-border e-commerce, is seeking a dedicated Customs Specialist (m/f/d) to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in Germany, with a focus on operations centered around Frankfurt Airport.

About the Role

As a Customs Specialist, you will be responsible for the operational processing of customs-related formalities in both import and export international trade. You will ensure compliance with national and international customs regulations, guarantee correct documentation, and actively contribute to the optimization of internal customs processes. Key Responsibilities

• Preparation, submission, and monitoring of import and export customs declarations
• Examination of shipping and customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.)
• Ensuring compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations
• Processing special customs procedures (e.g., bonded warehouse, active and passive refinement)
• Operational customs handling related to Frankfurt Airport, ensuring seamless and timely release of shipments
• Acting as the central point of contact for customs authorities and freight forwarders
• Liaison with internal departments
• Monitoring legislative changes and maintaining internal customs processes
• Supporting customs audits and implementing corrective measures
• Identifying optimization potential and reducing customs duties through accurate customs classification

Requirements

• Degree in International Trade, Logistics, Customs, or a similar field
• 2–5 years of experience in a similar customs function, preferably related to Frankfurt Airport
• Excellent knowledge of German customs law
• Proficiency in using ATLAS
• Excellent German and English communication skills
• Structured, diligent, and reliable work approach
• Independent and proactive problem-solving skills
• Teamwork capability and strong service orientation
