About the Apprenticeship

Starting on September 1, 2026, you can embark on a 3-year apprenticeship as an Industrial Electrician and Train Driver (m/f/d) for S-Bahn Berlin GmbH, based in Berlin. The vocational school is located in Berlin-Spandau, and the training workshop is in Berlin-Schöneweide.

Training Overview

Your training as an Industrial Electrician in the first two years includes:

  • Understanding electrical principles such as the relationship between voltage and current
  • Installing and maintaining electrical systems on S-Bahn trains, like passenger information displays and lighting
  • Conducting safety inspections and learning to use measurement devices

The following year, as a Train Driver for S-Bahn, you will learn:

  • Rules for safe and efficient railway operation
  • Driving S-Bahn trains under regular and irregular conditions
  • Ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and comfortably

What We Expect

  • A successful school graduation with a recognized qualification in Germany
  • Minimum B2 level German language skills
  • At least 17 years of age at the start of the apprenticeship
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving interests
  • Responsibility and reliability
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays
