Job Summary
We are seeking an Administrative Officer (m/f/d) to specialize in mining and water law procedures with a focus on nature conservation assessments for the Landesamt für Bergbau, Geologie und Rohstoffe (LBGR), Department 3, Subdepartment 33. This permanent position offers a salary level of E 11.
About the Role
The LBGR is a modern, high-performing upper state authority positioned in the heart of a generational shift. Our responsibilities cover supervision of various mining operations and we act as the State Geological Service for Brandenburg. We are also involved in the energy sector by approving the construction of electrical energy and gas pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing legal procedures for restoring usability to lignite mining areas
- Reviewing and monitoring the implementation of nature conservation measures
- Conducting preliminary assessments for environmental impact assessments
- Overseeing on-site inspections and reviewing reports
- Handling objections and providing legal assistance in administrative court cases related to licensing procedures
- Issuing orders, addressing administrative offenses, and investigating accidents
- Providing opinions on nature conservation-related issues
Requirements
You bring a Bachelor's or diploma degree in Mining, Ecology, Environmental Management, or a similar field. A driving license and capability to conduct field work are essential, as are strong German language skills (C1 level for non-native speakers).
- Strong understanding of environmental law, specifically nature conservation and water law
- Basic knowledge of administrative procedures and process law
- Experience in planning and approval processes in environmental projects is desirable
- Personal skills include strong team and communication abilities, assertiveness, and independent working capabilities
